Since 1945, YWCA Durham has advocated for violence protection for women and children. They provide emergency, transitional and income-based subsidized housing for women and children, counselling and outreach, recreation and family enrichment programming.

They are an invaluable asset to the community they serve and rely entirely on government funding and community support to operate their programs and services.

Due to the high demand for help in the community, Y’s WISH Shelter operates at over capacity on most days. They received over 1,200 calls to their 24-hour crisis line last year.”

With so many charitable organizations fighting for attention, support and contributions, the YWCA needed a way to gain more public attention.

They embraced the idea of transport truck advertising as a way to increase awareness of them in the community but, as a non-profit organization their advertising budget was limited.

Big Rig Wraps designed a Special Focus Truck Program for the YWCA. We found two businesses in the community that wanted to support the organization and place their ad on the YWCA truck.

Supporting Business #1

Community leader and award-winning real estate broker, Jacquelynn Tanner from Sutton Group Heritage Realty Inc., Brokerage, jumped at the opportunity to support YWCA.

This is the second Special Focus Truck Program that Jacquelynn has participated in.

“When the opportunity came up to not only take a side of the truck to boost my branding element but to also support such a worthwhile cause as the YWCA I jumped on board.

“I love that my Truck is traveling throughout Durham, Clarington and even as far as Peterborough. A major thrill came when I got a text from our son who works at Bryston Ltd.in Peterborough, that Jacquelynn Tanner’s Truck had just pulled into the company’s loading dock!

“I am a very pleased and proud advertiser with Big Rig Wraps Truck Advertising. It has been a seamless operation from the first advertising proof to the installation.

“Having such a prominent, travelling presence throughout the community affiliated with such an important charitable organization not only gives me the 24/7 branding exposure but partners me with a strong community builder,” Jacquelynn shared.

Supporting Business #2

D and A Limousine

Servicing Durham and the GTA, D and A Limousine is a 5 star rated limousine company that has been established since 2008.

The owners of D and A Limousine were excited to join the YWCA truck campaign and support an important part of the community. In addition to helping an important cause, the ad promoted their growing limousine company. It helped D and A Limousine stand out amongst its competitors while conveying the company’s high quality of service.

In the first six months since their ad launched on the YWCA truck, they have noticed an increase in web site traffic and a 25% increase in requests for a quote for limousine service.

BEYOND THE TRUCK

Big Rig Wraps hosted a public truck launch event to display the truck. The event was attended by local dignitaries, media outlets, the truck advertisers and members of the community. The highly publicized event resulted in immediate gifts and donations to the YWCA and provided fantastic exposure for the businesses who participated in this collaborative campaign.
